MGOM

In class, I've been looking at other big theifting sites like Round Two, Thriffted, and other smaller stores on Instagram
Its been nice seeing from the start of the stores and how they've grow to seeing Bape, Supreme, FTP,Palace, etc.
my topic has been the same, I've just been struggling with the pictures since I need to get a white cloth for the background.
I've told most of my friends to look it up and see it once it's done
I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna present it on the projector and show the store.

We eat social media for breakfast

We use the internet usually every day from the morning to the night. It's part of our lives now. A lot of people use it just to keep up with others. People can do all sorts of different things like finding a job or searching how to do things on YouTube Is the internet a good thing though ?
First thing is how we use the internet. People are always using the internet for school, work, or just for social media, but others use it for bad things. For example, the Dark web. On there, people can do anything they want and buy anything.
Second, when we use it. People find it addictive. So many people in class are always on their phone's just on social media or finishing up work from other classes. Like in my 2nd, we have to put our phones in some pockets on the walls, yet no one does it. Some teachers just don't care anymore because they know they'll fail the class.
Lastly, how useful it is. The internet is useful because it's fast. Say you want to search up a word, people would rather use google instead of using a dictionary. We choose the internet over books anytime. We can learn how to do different things like starting brands, starting music, and other things.
At the end of the day, we will always be using the internet. Some people may not have it at home but there's still school. Wether you use it for games, school, work, etc. the internet will always help and entertain us.

The digital divide

I believe technology isn't holding me back, and it'll help me with opening up an online store. I don't think anything I do is private or secure. I think people see me online just like I am in person.

Fahrenheit 451 Essay

Ray Bradbury made an amazing book called Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury's book was about a man, Montag, who was a "fireman" who started fires instead of setting them off. He burnt books and he's always enjoyed doing it. As the story ascends, Montag changes entirely.  He goes from hating them to loving them, and all that happened because of Clarisse.
Clarisse was different from anyone else in the book, she was curious. In the book, she's always asked questions and had full on conversations. As we can see, Mildred is nothing like that. Mildred only wants to watch her clothes or end her life. Ray Bradbury didn't have her in the book for long, but she impacted Montag. She made him open his mind and made him realize how important books were. There's a nothing person who was different, that's Beatty.
Beatty was different from everyone else, since he's older, he knows how things were when books were around. I kinda feel like he didn't play such a big role, but I'm sure he was suspicious of Montag. He somehow knew Montag was curious of books, which is why he visited him when Montag wanted to call in sick. I think Bradbury did this to show how people you're around aren't always the best, like how Beatty wanted to get the hound on Montag.
Both characters played a role, Clarisse was an inspiration and Beatty was like the bad guy. Both knew about books and how they changed things, but they each went a different path about showing it, Clarisse expressed herself and Beatty wanted them gone. I feel like Montag looked up to both at the beginning but his views were different after the bombing.

A Step Ahead of the Hound

1. Montag left the books at the Blacks' house
2. Faber said it was weird how the war had begun when they were in a sort of war themselves as well
3. Faber's TV was just like a phone
4. The news was on Faber's tv showing the new mechanical dog and the house of Montag
5. Montag was running to the river and trying to not get caught by everyone coming out of their house

The Chase is on

1. The hound attacked Montag because he killed Beatty.
2. Montag defended himself by Burning the mechanical dog
3. Montag realized Beatty wanted to die, since he didn't do anything and kept insulating him
4. Montag didn't know where he was going until he noticed he was heading to Faber's house
5. When Montag crossed the road, he almost got him by a car

Montag kills

I believe Montag kills Beatty because he pushed him to his limits. Beatty kept telling him things about the books he was ready and Montag just got tired of it. He also would of been arrested and had nothing else to do.

Catching up

I've only read up to page 54, but the part I'm on is pretty interesting. The firemen burned a women alive along with her books. I know we read that party but I went back because I really didn't understand some parts. Montag got sick and parinoid, he thought he heard the mechanical dog. Montag was gonna call the chief and tell him he was gonna miss work, but somehow he already knew. The Chief went to him and told him how the program originated.

F451 Questions

1. Well they're different because they seem more literal than us. Firemen actually start fires instead of helping and putting things out. They also seem more advanced since they have mechanical hours. It might seem as a dystopia place since they don't understand the things that happened in the past.

2. Clarisse actually knows how things used to be in the past. She knows fire men used to put out fires instead of starting them. She's more open minded and understanding.

3. I think the mechanical hounds were programmed to help Montag if anything happens to him when starting a fire.

What I See in Literature

The yellow smoke that rubs its muzzle on the window-panes,

my collar mounting firmly to the chin,

This is a valley of ashes - a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air.

The last one helps me see how the valley look. By the description, I see that everything around there is burnt and there's smoke everywhere. It's a very ashy place and it looks like people can't even be there. People are so used to it that it's just a regular thing now.

Poem

The poem was depressing for me. He just gave up instead of trying to get the girl. The guy was not confident in himself. He just accepted the fact of being alone and growing old by himself.

Can we watch the movie ?

i think we should watch the movie because it gives us a visual of how the characters look and shows their actions theoughout the movie. We also get to see the differences and similarities between the book and movie.

Chapter 3 remix

Basically, chapter 3 is all about Gatsby's parties. Gatsby throws huge parties and people always want to get invited. Nick got invited and when he went he saw Jordan. They tried looking for the host of the party but couldn't find him. Soon they went to get drinks and the guy sitting next to Nick said he remembered him from the war. That guy was Gatsby and Nick was surprised. They talked about going to fly in a blimp type of thing. Gatsby says "old sport" a lot. Jordan leaves after awhile because Gatsby wanted to talk to her alone. Around two couples were arguing about leaving early and other things.

Great Gatsby Remix Vol. 1

Chapter one is about a guy named Nick Carraway. Nick learned from his father not to judge others because their lives are different. He lives in a house in West Egg, next to Gatsby's mansion. His cousin, Daisy, lives on East Egg, so one night he goes to visit her and her her husband, Tom Buchanan. Daisy's friend, Jordan Baker, was also there. Tom tells everyone to read some book, that reveals that tom's a racist. They mostly talk and Tom gets a call from his other girl in New York. When he goes back home, he see's Gatsby. Once Nick turns away for awhile and turns back, Gatsby was gone.

BQ

Chapter 1: Genesis: the background of my big question
Ever since I was a kid, I'd hear about people and family passing away, I always wondered what happened after they died. Like is there really an after life ? A heaven and hell ? Since I really don't believed in those things, I always thought people would go into a never ending dream, where they could control everything like their own world. People have said they've seen hell or heaven after they die and come back to life, but we will never truly know what happens.
